FAQ

We get it, we're a new breed of dog park, so naturally there will be questions.

How many dogs can I bring?
You can get a membership for one, two, or three dogs. If you have more than three dogs per household, please contact us at membership@dogppl.nyc! This can be approved on a case-by-case basis.
Can my partner use my membership?
Absolutely! As long as your partner is added as a guardian on your account through the member app and has signed the club waiver, they can enjoy access to the club with any approved dogs linked to your membership.
Can I drop off my dog?
DOG PPL is for dogs and their humans to enjoy together, meaning you are responsible for your dog and must be inside the club with your dog at all times.
Can I work from the club?
Yes. But, while we like the fact our members can get work done here, our most important priority is a safe environment for dogs and a space that fosters socialization. To ensure this, we ask our human guests to always be alert and attentive to your dog(s).
Are Children Allowed?
Due to safety regulations and the well-being of the dogs, children under 16 years of age are currently not allowed in the club.
Are you open rain or shine?
Mostly- unlike traditional dog parks, our turf stays clean, safe, and fun in most weather conditions, and we also have covered areas to keep you and your pup comfortable rain or shine. In special circumstances, closures are handled on a case-by-case basis, and we’ll always keep you updated via email, text, and social media.
Do you have breed restrictions?
Absolutely not! All well-socialized and vaccinated dogs over 4 months of age are welcome at DOG PPL.

Can I bring my own food, drinks, or dog treats?

Can I bring my own dog toys?

Can I bring guests to the club?
Absolutely! You can invite human guests via your member app.You may bring up to five (5) non-household guests at a time. If you have more than five non-member guests who would like to attend an event, please contact our membership team. All visitors must sign the club waiver before entry.
Do you have bathrooms?
Yes, we have built-in bathrooms designed for convenience. Bathrooms are accessible on the main and small dog side.
How do I get my dogs up to the club?
We have private, secure elevators & stairs designed around canine safety.
Are collars required in the club?
We require every dog to wear a flat collar while inside the club. Collars allow our safety team to suitably handle dogs if needed for preventing or defusing an incident. Fabric collars are preferred and approved for dogs to wear. We ask that any metal, pronged or Martingale collars are removed before entering the club. With appropriate use, E-collars are allowed on either the vibration or electronic stimulation settings but we ask to not use the sonic/beep training as this can confuse surrounding dogs. Our concierge team has loaner collars which you can return upon exiting.
Why can’t my dog wear a harness in the club?
Harnesses are prohibited due to safety reasons. Dogs in harnesses run the risk of having other dogs getting their teeth or jaws stuck in the material. Here at DOG PPL we do our best to implement safety protocols that prevent any injuries or incidents.
What is the Social Evaluation at DOG PPL?
The Social Evaluation is a short, friendly assessment where our trained team observes how your dog interacts with other dogs and people. It helps us make sure DOG PPL stays a safe, welcoming space for everyone. We look at your dog’s play style, social skills, and comfort level to see if they're a good fit for our off-leash community.
Do dogs have to be spayed or neutered to visit the club?
For the safety of our members, all dogs aged 8 months and above must be spayed or neutered. Dogs that have not been "fixed" may not do well in a social environment. Simply because they smell very different from those dogs who are neutered or spayed and will become the center of attention in a pack setting. Those dogs may feel picked on or receive far too much attention for their comfort level. This can result in a dog fight.
Do Neutering Alternatives count?
Intact males and unspayed females smell different. - Particularly in males, Neutering alternatives such as sterilizations (Zeuterin) and vasectomies don't stop the production of testosterone, which is the main driver behind issues with in-tact males in the club.
Is there wifi?
There sure is. Our club is equipped with internet and multiple hot spots throughout the space. We ask our members to limit their screen time, and look for signs for when they're dog has had enough social time for the day, which helps to maintains a safe environment for all other dogs in the space.
Can my dog walker bring my dogs to the club?
Yes! As long as your dog walker is added as a guardian on your account through the member app and has signed the club waiver, they’re welcome to bring the approved dogs from your membership to the club.
Is there parking?
We do not have dedicated parking, however street parking is available in the surrounding area.
What’s the difference between DOG PPL and public dog parks?
Everything! First and foremost, DOG PPL is a private park, which allows us to prioritize safety and comfort. Upon applying for a membership, we ensure all the applicants are up to date on their health records and pass a behavior assessment. Additionally, we keep facilities clean and sanitized. We cater to our human friends too via the bar, cafe, lounge areas, and events.

Most importantly, we pride ourselves in having a best-in-class staff that's trained in canine safety to help keep the play between dogs as safe as possible.
Is there a small dog section?
Yes, we have a small section of the club with its own entry as well as access to the bar and bathrooms. We require dogs to be 25lbs and under to gain access to this side.
Is smoking allowed inside the club?
Smoking and vaping is not permitted inside or around the premises, as it is proven to be a health risk for our members (our dogs).
Am I allowed to take photos and videos inside the club?
Photo and video capture is so encouraged! Follow and tag us @dogppl and your content may be shared on our page! We will also offer professional photography for you and your four-legged friends during special events.

DOG PPL is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of dogs, including those in need, and thus, Canine Rescue Club was born.

With a commitment to responsible dog rehabilitation and established rescue collaborations, we are helping ensure more dogs find their forever homes through the DOG PPL community.
How long does it take to get an answer if my dog passed their Social Evaluation?
You’ll hear back from us within 24 hours via email with your dog’s results and next steps. Most Social Evaluations are determined the same day as your first visit.

That said, we continue to observe how dogs adjust over time, as some behaviors may emerge as they grow more comfortable in the space. If we notice anything, it’s simply an opportunity for us to communicate with you about areas that may need extra attention or training support.
